Westfield, Mass. - The Westfield State women's track and field team was selected as the favorite to win the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference this upcoming Spring, as voted by the preseason coaches poll.

Westfield State has won three straight MASCAC championships, and will look to make it four in a row this season.

Returning from last year's championship run is senior Lexi Popp (Westford, Mass.) who is coming off an outstanding indoor track season in which she earned All-America and All-Region honors. Popp won the 200m and 400m events at the 2018 MASCAC championship meet, and was also a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that took first place.

Also returning for the Owls is fellow senior relay team member Kerri Long (Weymouth, Mass.), as well as standout sophomores Erin Giugno (Marlborough, Mass.) and Rachael Farley (Paxton Mass.)

Senior Brianna Deloury (Andover, Mass.) and junior Lauren Gilderdale (Great Barrington, Mass.) are also returning in the field events for Westfield State. Deloury won the high jump title at the 2018 MASCAC championship meet, while Gilderdale took home gold in the discus.
