Lexi Popp Qualifies for NCAA 400 Meter Final; Championship Race Saturday at 3:30 p.m. - Watch Live

CLERMONT, Fla.   –  Westfield State University senior Lexi Popp won her preliminary heat in the 400 meters at the NCAA Division III national championship meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Friday afternoon, and will advance to Sunday's finals.

Popp led wire to wire running from lane six, stopping the clock in a time of 57.23 seconds.  The top eight times from the five preliminary heats advance to Saturday's 3:30 p.m. final.

Popp entered the meet seeded third.  She qualified fifth, with Stevens Institute (NJ) Gina Dello Russo the top qualifier with a time of 56.29 seconds.

The top eight finishers tomorrow will earn All-America honors, while the race winner will be the national champion in the 400.
