Westfield State junior thrower Lauren Gilderdale (Housatonic Valley HS/Great Barrington, Mass.) took home the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's field athlete of the week, for her performances at the Massassoit Invitational meet on Saturday, Jan. 26.

Gilderdale put the shot 12.47m (40'-11.00) in her winning effort, topping a field of 28 student-athletes.

Gilderdale reined over a 23-athlete field with a winning toss of  15.80m (51'-10") 20-lb. weight, an effort that was a personal best of by two feet, and has her ranked fourth in New England in NCAA Division III and 20th on the national perfomance list.

Gilderdale has qualified to compete at the NEICCCA championships at the Reggie Lewis Center next weekend.
