Women's Track Wins Four Events at RIC Invite

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Westfield State University women's track and field team won four events at the Rhode Island College Invitational, held at Providence Career and Technical High School Saturday afternoon.

Lexi Popp (Westford Academy / Westford, Mass.) set an RIC meet record in the 400 meters, while running her way to a fourth place finish in the 200 meters.

Andrea Noland (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake) crossed the line first in the 5000 meters.

In the field events, Brianna Deloury (Andover, Mass.) won the high jump and set a RIC meet record at a height of 1.57 meters, while Mackenzie Connor (Chelmsford, Mass.) continued in the footsteps of former All-American Ashley Craig, placing first in the pole-vault.

Junior Lauren Gilderdale (Housatonic/Great Barrington, Mass.) finished second in the shot put and took home fourth place honors in the 20-lb. weight throw.

Next up for women's track and field is the Harvard Multi Meet held on January 10 and 11 at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.
