WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's senior Jessie Cardin (Sr., Sutton, Mass) earned the MASCAC women's track athlete of the week and sophomore Victoria Sparages (Saugus, Mass) was named to the weekly honor roll.

Cardin won the 5,000 meters at the Coast Guard Invitational with a time of 17:28:28, which qualified her for the New England Championship meet and she is currently ranked 14^th on the NCAA performance list. She helped lead the Owls to win the meet last week.

Sparages came in third place in the javelin with a top throw of 39.25m (128'9") at the Coast Guard Invitational helping the Owls take the title. She sits 12^th on the NCAA performance list.

Westfield State University will host the Jerry Gravel Classic on Saturday, April 14^th at the Gravel Track and Alumni Field Complex at Westfield State University. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
