Women's Track Ranks 14th in USTFCCCA National Poll

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's women's outdoor track and field team has been ranked 14th in the seventh week of the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Team Rankings on Tuesday.

The Owls soared 12 spots from No. 26 to No. 14, their best outdoor ranking in program history after senior Jessie Cardin (Sutton, Mass.), senior Ashley Craig (Groton, Mass. / Westford Academy), junior Lexi Popp (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy), and senior Sabrina Pray (Mansfield, Mass.) tallied national top-8 marks.

Cardin is ranked third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Craig comes in sixth in the pole vault, Popp is eighth in the 400-meter dash and Pray is sixth in the 100-meter hurdles.

The final National Team Rankings of the regular season will be unveiled on Monday in advance of the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which take place May 24-26 in La Crosse, Wisconsin on the campus of UW-La Crosse.

The list is compiled of the top 25 teams, and changes weekly depending on individual and team results.
