Eight Owls Recognized on LEC Academic Honor Roll

Westfield State had eight student athletes on the Women's Swimming and Diving team that were named the Little East Conference Fall 2023 Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league on Thursday.

The Owls athletes recognized included: Paige Brandt (Woodbury, Conn), Kaitlyn Colby (Shrewsbury, Mass), Molly Finnegan (Westport, Mass), Kyra Floyd (Burlington, Mass), Olivia Harkins (Woburn, Mass), Allyson Linkenhoker (Monson, Mass), Alexa Richter (Westfield, Mass), and Jacqueline Roccabruna (Pittsfield, Mass).

The Little East Conference announced that there was a total of 1,977 student athletes were named to the LEC Honor Roll.

In order to be eligible for the academic honor roll the student must obtain a 3.0 GPA or above for the semester and be an active member of the team at the end of the season. In the entire LEC conference there were 283 students with a GPA of 4.0 or above, 429 students with a GPA of 4.9 or above, 760 students with a GPA of 3.75 or above, and 1,257 students with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Women's Swimming and Diving is also the only sport that Westfield State has is in the Little East Conference.

This past weekend the Owls won their meets against Elms college with a final score of 131-116 and against UMass Dartmouth with a final score of 162-41. The Owls are back in action for the LEC Championships on Friday, February 16.
