Owls Top WestConn and UMD

Alexa Richter and Kat Ferri each won three events to power the Owls to a pair of wins over Western Connecticut and UMass Dartmouth in a three-way dual meet in Danbury, Connecticut on Saturday.

Richter won the longest (1000-yard freestyle) and shortest (50-yard freestyle) events at the meet, and added the 100 freestyle crown with a time of 58.72, nearly four seconds ahead of her closest competitor.

Ferri topped the 50 butterfly, the 200 butterfly, and the 200 backstroke.

Wiktoria Kaczor, Karoline Warzybok, and Kara Banagan were also event winners for the Owls, who will finish 6-3 in dual meets this season.

Westfield downed WestConn by a 173-78 margin, and topped UMass-Dartmouth 171-79.

The Owls will next compete at the Little East Conference Championships at the Boston Sport Institute in Wellesley on Feb 20-22.
