Ferri, Richter Pace Owls in Victory Over Plymouth, 155-91

Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State swimmers Kat Ferri (Springfield, Mass.) and Alexa Richter (Westfield, Mass.) each won three individual events to guide the Owls to a 155-91 victory on the road against Plymouth State on Saturday afternoon. Ferri won the 200-yard IM (2:33.53), the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.52) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.38). Richter secured three separate freestyle events: The 100-yard (58.41), 200-yard (2:09.33), and 500-yard (5:41.87) freestyles.

Junior Wiktoria Kaczor (Belchertown, Mass.) won the 50-yard breaststroke (32.78) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.58). Junior Nicole Pechulis (Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore Aly Locke (Brookfield, Mass.) each won an individual event as Pechulis earned a victory in the 50-yard freestyle (27.88) while Locke edged teammate swimmer Lauren Harkins (Woburn, Mass.) by .04 seconds in the 50-yard backstroke.

Hannah Burns (Billerica, Mass.), Emily Smith (Medway, Mass.), Molly Finnegan (Westport, Mass.) and Annelyse Rivera (Brockton, Mass.) led the Owls to a team victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:15.30.

Westfield State will be back in the pool for their next meet after the holiday break as the Owls host UMass Dartmouth for senior day on Saturday, January 22nd at 1:00 P.M. from Ely Pool in Westfield, Mass.
