Swimming Third at UMass Dartmouth Invite

DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Westfield State University women's swimming and diving team placed third at the 2019 Louise Goodrum Invitational Meet hosted by UMass. Dartmouth on Saturday.

Senior Kelsey Johnstone (Southwick, Mass.) won three events including the 50 yard breast stroke, 500 yard freestyle, and 100 yd IM. Johnstone also was fifth in the 50 yard freestyle.

Junior Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass.) won the 50 yard backstroke, while placing third in the 50 yard freestyle.

The relay team og Johnstone, Kelly, Carly Thibodeau (Mendon, Mass.), and Sarah Sartoris (East Hartford, Conn.) placed second in the 200m relay with a time for 2:01.21.

On the diving side of things, sophomore Hannah McKenna (Methuen, Mass.) placed fourth in the women's 1-meter dive.

The women's swim and dive team is back in action at home on Wednesday, November 13 as they host Western New England in their home opener.
