Seven Owls Named to Little East Conference Winter All-Academic Team

Westfield State University swimming and diving placed seven athletes on the recently released Little East Conference Winter All-Academic team.

Seniors Siobhan Carey, Shannon Fitzsimmons and Monique Groux headlined the Owls' roster, which also included juniors Kelsey Johnstone and Carly Thibodeau, sophomores Lila Kaplan and Kait Kelly.

To be named the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.

Westfield State finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 7-2 record in dual meets, and placed third at the Little East Championship meet and seventh in the NEISDA Championships.
