WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State senior Shannon Fitzsimmons (Andover, Mass.) won a pair of events to pace Westfield State, as the Owls swam to a 123-86 win over UMass Dartmouth in a women's swim and dive dual meet in North Dartmouth, Mass., on Saturday.
Fitzsimmons placed first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:01.59, and doubled up by winning the 200 butterfly in 2:24.36.
Other winners for Westfield included Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass.) in the 200 backstroke, Kelsey Johnstone (Westfield/Southwick, Mass.) in the 200 freestyle, Emma Colcord Landmark School/Andover, Mass.) in the 500 freestyle, and Monique Groux in 1-meter diving.
Westfield State improves to 3-2 overall this season in dual meets. The Owls will wrap up their first-semester schedule next Saturday with a dual meet at Plymouth State.
