WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's swim team has been named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's Scholar All-America list for Fall 2017.
Coached by Dave Laing, Westfield State's team averaged a 3.30 grade-point average, positioning itself well above the 3.0 milestone that qualifies them for the honor.
Nationwide, 688 men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned the distinction of Scholar All-America team for the Fall 2017 semester. The teams represent 430 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions.
Westfield State University has placed on the Scholar All-America list for three consecutive years.
For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
