Westfield Defeats Plymouth, 120-100
MEET RESULTS

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's women's swimming and diving team won its fifth consecutive meet, as the Owls defeated Plymouth State, 120-100 in a dual meet at the Ely Pool on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls wrapped up the meet by the 10th (of 16) event, and competed exhibition for the remainder of the meet.

Winners for the Owls included Emma Colcord in the 1000 free, Jordan Baker in the 200 free, Tia Pariseau in the 50 breaststroke and 100 freestyle, Shannon Fitzsimmons in the 100 butterfly, Kait Kelly in the 50 free and 100 backstroke.

Kelsey Johnstone touched the wall first in the 200 IM in 2:25.31 while swimming exhibition.

The Owls won the 200 medley realy with the quartet of Johnstone, Pariseau, Fitzsimmons and Baker, while the quartet of Kelly, Danielle MacDonald, Taylor Pierce and Pariseau swam 4:11.54 in the 400 free relay while swimming exhibition.

Plymouth State fell to 1-4 with the loss. Casey Allaire won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events for the Panthers.

The Owls are on a pace for one of their best ever team seasons, as the 2006-7 Owls squad finished 9-1 in dual meets.

Westfield will break for finals and the holidays before returning to competition on January 19 at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, Conn.
