WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's junior Monique Groux (Agawam, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference diver of the week while freshman teammate Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass. / Minnechaug Regional High School) was named the LEC rookie of the week Monday.
Groux was named LEC Diver of the Week for the second time this season after totaling 212.40 points on the one-meter board and 203.35 points on the three-meter board, helping the Owls to a 155-143 win over Smith College. She placed third on the three-meter board and fourth on the one-meter board.
Kelly repeats are LEC Rookie Swimmer of the Week after winning the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.95), 200-yard backstroke (2:18.50) and 200-yard IM (2:21.18), and swimming the lead-off leg of the winning the 20-yard medley relay team (1:59.05) to help lead Westfield State to a 155-143 win at Smith College.
The Owls are 3-1 on the season and will host UMass Dartmouth on December 2nd at 1:00 p.m.
