Recent Highlights:

2023 season:   For the third consecutive season, and 10th time in his career, Ditmar directed the Owls to the MASCAC Championship with a 2-1 win at Bridgewater St. in the conference championship game.  The Owls traveled to face the number-5 ranked team in the nation in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, marking the 10th time the Owls advanced to the NCAA's under coach Ditmar's guidance.  The Owls swept the league's player of the year awards, as Delaney Parker was selected as the offensive player of the year, Jaida Cochran was tabbed as the defensive player of the year, and first-year Tia Tollis was chosen as the circuit's rookie of the year.  In all, six Owls players were named to the All-Conference teams.  Westfield finished 13-7-1 overall and 6-1 in MASCAC play.

2022 season: Ditmar steered the Owls to their ninth MASCAC championship in program history and fourth in the past five seasons as the Owls concluded their season 16-4-1 overall, and an undefeated 7-0 in MASCAC conference play, tying the second-highest win total in program history. The Owls defeated Emerson College in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the Round of 32 for the first time since 2011 (with Ditmar also leading the Owls to a victory over Stevens in 2011). Graduate student Jenn Rennich was named the NCAA Division III Academic All-America of the Year and was selected to the All-America First-Team for the second time in her career. Rennich and sophomore Jaida Cochran were selected to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region Team with Rennich securing a spot on the Region II Second Team and Cochran receiving Third Team recognition. Six Owls were recognized for MASCAC All-Conference teams. Rennich and Cochran secured MASCAC Offensive and Defensive Player Of The Year respectively. Joining Rennich and Cochran on the All-Conference First Team is sophomore Delaney Parker and senior midfielder Kylee Murphy. Senior midfielder Marissa Jacob and senior defender Jenna Hurlburt were each named to the All-Conference Second Team as the Owls led all teams with six all-conference selections.

2021 season: Ditmar guided the Owls to their eighth MASCAC championship in program history and third title in the last four seasons as the Owls finished the year at a 15-5-1 mark, the third highest win total in team history. Todd received the MASCAC Coach of the Year as the Owls had a record-breaking season with Ditmar at the helm. First-year forward Delaney Parker shattered the single-season goals and points records. Senior Jenn Rennich set the single-season assist record as Westfield compiled 78 goals on the season, which is the highest goal total in school history. Parker earned placement on NEWISA All-New England Third-Team and Rennich was named a Co-SIDA First-Team Academic All-American. Both were nominated to the MASCAC All-Conference First-Team along with junior Jenna Hurlburt and first-year Jaida Cochran. Junior goalie Lauryn Davis also placed on the all-conference second-team. 

2019 season: Ditmar led the Owls to 11-6-1 record and the #1 seed in the MASCAC Tournament. The Owls fell to Bridgewater in double overtime in the semifinals. Junior Lydia Kinsman earned the conference's Offensive Player of the Year award, while sophomore Jenn Rennich and junior Morgan Remington joined Kinsman on the All-Conference First Team. 

2018 season: Todd Ditmar guided the Owls to the MASCAC championship beating Salem State to earn the Owls a spot in the NCAA tournament. Westfield had 4 players chosen to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference all conference teams. Jenn Rennich, Bella Eduardo and Casey Rotti were named to the first team, while Natalia Falcone was named to the second team.

2017 season: For the second time in three years, the Owls defeated Worcester State to the win the MASCAC title to advance to the NCAA tournament, Westfield traveled to national powerhouse Messiah (PA) in the first round in which the Owls came up short. Bella Eduardo earned the MASCAC women’s soccer player of the year and Lydia Kinsman earned the league’s rookie of the year award.  Rene Hamel, Marissa Mcgue and Caitlin MacGregor were named to the leagues all-conference team.

Career Highlights: The Owls' women's soccer team has reached new heights under Ditmar's direction as the Owls participated in the NCAA Tournament 10 times, won the MASCAC regular season title eight times and won the postseason tournament championships on 10 occasions: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2012, 2011, 2009, and 2008.

Ditmar has posted a record of 203-116-29 at Westfield through the 2023 season, and has a career collegiate coaching record of 317-202-36.

In 2008 Ditmar led the Owls to a 15-5 record and their first NCAA Division III tournament berth, followed by a stellar 16-2-2 record in 2009 behind a then-record 19 goals in a season from Meg Gearin.

Westfield in 2011, for the first time in school history advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and posted a 15-4-2 record. The Owls upset tournament host Stevens Institute in the opening round with a penalty-kick shootout victory to advance to the season round.

Ditmar led the Owls to a spectacular season in 2012 as they had the best record (18-1-1) in school history and set numerous school records. The Owls were unbeaten in the regular season before falling in the NCAA Tournament. That team was highlighted by a high scoring attack that featured Kayley Miller, Brittanie McGregor and LeAnne Rivard, as well as standout goalkeeper Jess Habif.

In 2015, Westfield State pulled a mild upset in the MASCAC Championship game, defeating top-seeded Worcester State, 1-0 on the road to win the title and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Westfield played eventual national champion Williams College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

About Coach Ditmar: Ditmar resides in Longmeadow and graduated from Longmeadow High School in 1985. The UMass Amherst graduate is the son of former Major League baseball pitcher Art Ditmar of Pittsfield, Mass. He also oversees Westfield State University's club sports program.

Before Westfield: Before coming to Westfield, he was the head women’s coach at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass., for 12 years (1993-2004), posting a record of 114-86-7. During his tenure, Bay Path won North Atlantic Conference championships in 1998, 2002 and 2004. His 2004 team posted a 20-3-1 record and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament.
