WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State graduate student Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) and sophomore Jaida Cochran (Middleboro, Mass.) were both recently selected to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region Team with Rennich earning a spot on the Region II Second Team and Cochran receiving Third Team recognition.

Rennich was named to the All-Region Second Team after finishing the season with 23 goals, which was tied for ninth in all of Division III. She also led the conference in points (53) and finished with the third most assists in the MASCAC with seven. Rennich finished her women's soccer career at Westfield by topping the leaderboards in assists (45) and points (145). Her 50 career goals pulled her a single goal behind all-time goals leader Sandy Pinto.

Cochran received placement on the All-Region Third Team after leading an Owls defense that allowed 0.94 goals per game. The MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year also guided Westfield to 11 shutouts across 21 games which is the second most shutouts for a single season in program history. Cochran also added two goals and an assist, further cementing her all-around ability in her second season with the Owls.

Rennich and Cochran played integral roles for the Owls this past season as Westfield managed to run the table in the MASCAC for the second straight year, plowing through the conference regular season with a 7-0 record and then picking up shutout victories over Worcester State and Fitchburg State to win their second straight MASCAC Championship.

The Owls then advanced into the NCAA Tournament where Westfield won a first round game against Emerson College, 2-1 to advance into the round of 32 where they eventually fell 3-0 to the host team Scranton.
