WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State graduate student Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) became the all-time leading point scorer in program history after notching her 120th career point on an assist to Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) as the Owls rolled to a 3-0 victory over Mass. Maritime on Friday evening from Buzzards Bay, Mass.

Rennich passes Kayley Miller (2010-12) on the all-time points list as the fifth-year forward has now totaled an even 40 goals and 40 assists and counting in her four seasons with the Owls. She also owns the all-time assist record for the program, passing Kate MacLellan (2007-10) for sole possession earlier in the season. In terms of career goals, Rennich ranks fourth all-time, 11 goals off the pace of leading goal scorer Sandy Pinto (1994-97). The Owls have five regular season games remaining, plus additional postseason games.

Westfield State improves to 8-3-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference. Mass. Maritime dips to 1-5-3 on the year and 0-3-1 in the conference.

The Owls opened the scoring at the 27th minute when Kylee Murphy (Haverhill, Mass.) forced a turnover at the 35-yard line, carried the ball past a Buccaneers defender, then rocketed a shot into the upper left corner of the net from the far side of the box to put the Owls up 1-0.

Entering the second half with the Owls up a goal, Rennich sent a through ball from the 30-yard line where Parker out-ran the nearest defender to the ball and beat goalkeeper Brady Deschamps (Brewster, Mass.) for her seventh goal of the season to double the Westfield lead.

Parker put the game out of reach with her second goal of the night eight minutes after her first tally. She settled a feed from Jaida Cochran (Middleboro, Mass.) just outside the top of the box, made a move past a defender and then blasted a low shot past Deschamps to secure the victory.

The Owls controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting the Buccaneers 36-2 on the night, including a first-half in which Mass. Maritime was unable to attempt a single shot. Deschamps (L, 1-5-3) was battered with shots for the entirety of the contest, piling up 16 saves.

First-year goalkeeper Julia Robak (Chicopee, Mass.) picked up her fifth win of the season for the Owls, starting the first 75 minutes of the game before passing the assignment off to sophomore keeper Sarah Fuller (Weymouth, Mass.) for the final 15 minutes. Fuller stopped the only shot on net recorded by Mass. Maritime.

Westfield State returns to action next weekend as the Owls host Bridgewater State in a conference match-up from Alumni Field on Saturday at 2:00 P.M.
