WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Eastern Connecticut women's soccer got goals from three different scorers as the Warriors shut out Westfield State, 3-0 in a non-conference  match on Alumni Field on Wednesday night.

The Warriors (3-1-2) got on the board first on the remnant of a corner kick play.    Briley Harnois' (Attleboro, Mass.) initial shot from the right side was saved by Owls' goalkeeper Julia Robak (Chicopee, Mass.), but the rebound deflected to Daria DiBlasio (Richmond, R.I.) at the top of the 6-yard box, and she got a foot on the ball to slide it left to Aleixie Root (Old Saybrook, Conn.), who put the shot home at back post for a 1-0 lad in the eighth minute of play.

Ashlyn Rogers (Portsmouth, R.I.) added the second goal for Eastern Connecticut, as defender Madison Palmer (Storrs, Conn.) launched a long ball from the left side that bounced high in the penalty area, and found Rogers for the header in the 53rd minute.

Finally, Harnois added her fifth goal of the season in the 60th minute, striking a loose ball in the penalty area for the marker.

Westfield's (4-2-1) best scoring chances came in a flurry with about 13 minutes left in the match, as Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) fired an initial shot from the right side that was saved, Grace McDermott (Weymouth, Mass.) added a point-blank shot on the rebound that was also saved by Easter GK Rachel Hughes (Columbia, Conn.), and finally Parker whistled the third shot of the series just wide left.

Hughes made nine saves in the second half for the Warriors, with starter Emily Wallace (Smithtown, N.Y.) stopping four shots in the first half to combine for the shutout.  The Owls generated 13 shots on goal, but found the Warriors keepers well positioned on almost all of them.

Robak and Sarah Fuller (Weymouth, Mass.) split the game in net for the Owls, each making a pair of saves.

Westfield out shot Eastern 20-9 overall, but the Warriors generated nine corner kicks to the Owls four.

Westfield will be back on the field on Friday night with a MASCAC league game at MCLA.  Eastern Connecticut will host a key LEC showdown with Southern Maine on Saturday.
