Rennich Named First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American

WESTFIELD, Mass. –  Westfield State University senior women's soccer midfielder Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass./Bedford HS) has been named as a first-team Academic All-American as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Rennich has maintained a 3.99 grade-point average as a movement science major at Westfield State, and had a standout season on the soccer field where she scored 14 goals with a school-record 18 assists.  

She helped lead the Owls to a 15-5-1 overall record, Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season and conference tournament championships, as well as an appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament.  She was named a first-team all-conference pick for the third time in her career. 

Rennich has a concentration in sports medicine and plans to attend physical therapy school after graduation.

A two-sport athlete at Westfield, Rennich is currently competing with the Westfield State women's basketball team.

Rennich becomes the ninth Westfield State student-athlete and the second women's soccer player to to earn Academic All-America Honors from CoSIDA since the program began in 1952. Softball player Lisa Liebecki was honored in both 1986 and 1987, men's basketball player George Bent in 1987 and softball player Cheryl Bassett in 1988. Rachel Dionne was selected for lacrosse in 2011, Amanda Gricus for track and field in 2012, women's soccer standout Sarah Sypek in 2014, track and field javelin national champion Travon Godette in 2016, and baseball slugger Alex Lafayette in 2018.
