Westfield State freshman midfielder Jenn Rennich tallied the lone goal of the match, as the Owls defeated Elms College, 1-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match at Leary Field in Chicopee, Mass., on wednesday evening.

Rennich netted the goal 14:30 into the match, scoring off a cross from classmate Madison Dufries.

Owls senior goalkeeper Natalia Falcone needed to make just two saves in 76 minutes of action.  Freshman Brianna Hawley came in for the final 14 minutes and was not tested between the pipes.

Westfield improves to 5-3-1 on the season.  The Owls will be back in MASCAC action on Saturday, traveling to Mass Maritime for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.

Elms drops to 6-4-1 on the season with the loss.
