Westfield State University freshman goalkeeper Brianna Hawley (Lee, Mass.) was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference rookie of the week for the week ending Sept. 9.
Hawley was pressed into starting duty on Saturday, and responded with 13-save performance to preserve a 1-1 overtime draw with the University of New England.
She finished the week with a 0.82 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
Westfield will next play at Framingham on Saturday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Owls first MASCAC game of the season.
