WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year forward Willow Romo (Marlboro, Vt.) had a breakout game in Saturday's conference victory over Mass. Maritime, securing the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week honors.

Romo opened the scoring just 16 seconds into game action with her first collegiate goal, then proceeded to score four more goals for the remainder of the game, completing a five-goal night as part of a 25-11 win over the Buccaneers.

The Marlboro native was particularly accurate in the contest, converting five of seven shots taken with all five shots on goal finding the back of the net. The Owls as a team tallied a season-high 25 goals which was just two goals shy of tying the single-game program record of 27 goals scored.

Westfield State (5-4) will travel to Western Connecticut State University for a non-conference game on Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. before hosting Bridgewater State from Alumni Field this upcoming Saturday at noon.
