WESTFIELD, MA – Westfield State University's Cassidy Harvey (Niskayuna, N.Y.) received Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors for women's lacrosse, for the week ending on March 16. Senior Sam Donohoe (Pepperell, Mass.) was also recognized among the MASCAC Weekly Honor Roll.
Harvey collected nine goals and Donohoe contributed eight goals with an assist for nine points and a ground ball in a 2-0 week for the Owls.
Cassidy provided five goals in the 16-11 win over preseason #20 Illinois Wesleyan University and added four more goals with a ground ball and caused turnover in the 17-11 win over Carroll University (Wisc.) at the Spring Fling Tournament in Englewood, Fla.
Donohoe registered a team-high six goals in the win over Illinois Wesleyan at the Spring Fling Tournament then added two goals and an assist in the 17-11 win over Carroll University.
Westfield will finish the 2020 spring season with a 4-1 record, as the remainder of the season has been cancelled due to the world-wide coronavirus pandemic.
