Owls Take Third at WSU Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State University's women's golf team placed third as they hosted the Westfield State Invitational tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Tekoa Country Club.

Junior Bailey Loughlin was the top finisher for the Owls in the individual standings in eighth place with back to back rounds of 95 for a two-day total of 190.

Suffolk University won the team title with a final score of 740, three strokes better than Johnson and Wales with 743, then the Owls third with 786.

Husson (Maine) College's Katie Goulet was the tournament champion with back to back rounds of 87 for a two-day total of 174, one shot ahead of Suffolk's Iselle Ventura and two better than JWU's Alex Anastos.

Kyla Murphy (195) placed 11th and Tia Pariseau (198) was 12th for the Owls, who saw four players break 100 on Sunday.
