WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior guard Olivia Hadla (Westfield, Mass.) received conference honors this past week as she was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week and for the second consecutive week, was also named to the New England Women's Basketball Association All-Region Team, placing on the first-team.

Hadla averaged 20.5 points, four assists, two steals, and 1.5 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 50% (8-16) from three-point range and 46.7% (14-30) from the floor overall.

The Westfield native had a game-high 21 points, burying four of five triples while adding three steals and two assists as part of a 78-64 victory over Worcester State on Wednesday. Hadla then reached the 20-point mark again in a 102-51 home win over Fitchburg State, chipping in six assists and two steals as well.

On the year, Hadla leads the Owls in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game with that number climbing to 19.8 per contest against MASCAC opponents this season. She is also third in the MASCAC in steals per game at 3.2. The conference weekly honors come after Hadla earned a spot on the NEWBA All-Region Second Team for the week ending on January 6.

Hadla's 41-point week moved her closer to the 1,000-point career scoring mark as she is just 14 points away (986 career points) from being the 19th Owls player in program history to achieve such feat.

Westfield State (10-7 overall, 3-1 MASCAC) will travel to Bridgewater State (8-9 overall, 4-0 MASCAC) for a showdown featuring the two teams in last year's MASCAC Championship game on Saturday at noon.
