Matchup: #3 Westfield (18-9) vs #1 Bridgewater (20-6)

The Season Series:  The two teams split this season, each winning on their home court.  Bridgewater pulled away late for a 76-59 win over the Owls on January 18, behind 21 points from Kylie Grassi.  That was the last time the Owls lost, as Westfield has now won nine straight, including a 67-56 win at Westfield on February 11.  The Owls got 18 points and 11 rebounds from Jordan Grant, and limited Grassi to just nine points.

On the Line:  Westfield is looking for its sixth MASCAC tournament title under coach Andrea Bertini. The Owls won four straight from 2015-2019.   Westfield fell to Bridgewater, 60-57 in a heartbreaking last-second defeat in the 2015 MASCAC title game, the last time these two teams met in the league championship game.

With the MASCAC title would come the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.

Men's Game

Tip off at 4:00 p.m. at Worcester State; Live stats and video at WestfieldStateOwls.com, or watch on MASCAC.Tv app/channel on Roku, Amazon, or AppleTV

Matchup:  #3 Westfield (12-15) vs. #1 Worcester (21-5)

The Season Series:  The Lancers swept Westfield State in the two meetings this season, winning 83-60  at Worcester on January 14 behind 23 points from Aaron Nkrumah and 19 from Zion Hendrix as the Lancers shot their way past the Owls with 9-18 shooting from three point range.   Worcester's Eric Bjorn scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to power the Lancers in an 80-58 win over the Owls at Westfield on Feb. 8, the only loss for Westfield in its last 10 games.  The Lancers were 25-28 at the foul line.   JT Thompson led the Owls in scoring in both games with 12 in the first matchup and 13 the second time around.  Keep an eye on Owls' senior Brendon Hamilton, who's playing in his hometown of Worcester, and averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds per game in his last five.  Hamilton has 949 points in his three-year career with the Owls.

On the Line:   Westfield is in pursuit of a third straight MASCAC Tournament title.  The Owls won in 2020 before the covid pandemic disrupted the '21 season, then again in 2022 with an 80-66 win over the Lancers in the title game, where Tournament MVP Hamilton dominated with 16 points and 26 rebounds.  Westfield defeated Worcester 80-77 in the 2020 title tilt.

The winner earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
