Westfield State to Play at Tufts In NCAA Tournament

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State will play Tufts University in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament this weekend, the NCAA announced on Monday afternoon.

The Owls earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national championship tourney by virtue of winning the conference tournament. The Owls won their league for the third straight year.

Westfield will be making their sixth NCAA tournament appearance overall, their third straight, and fourth under 13th year head coach Andrea Bertini.

Last year, Westfield State fell in the first round in a hard-fought 81-73 game at Montclair State.

The Owls lead nation in scoring 88.5 points per game, steals, at 20.1 per game, and turnover margin at +16.58 per game. The Owls scored 100 or more points in a game eight times this season.

More details on game times, ticket prices and broadcasts will be posted as they are announced.
