WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore Hannah Wodecki (Southampton, Mass.) delivered a sensational week at the plate en route to being named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week in a 4-2 week for the Owls.

Wodecki batted .480 (12-25) with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, and a staggering 17 RBI while also scoring eight runs. She went 6-8 with 11 RBI, two home runs, and four runs scored including a grand slam in a doubleheader sweep of MCLA. She then registered three hits, including two doubles with two RBI and three runs scored in a doubleheader split against Framingham.

The sophomore third baseman's season-long tear at the dish helped her break the Owls single-season RBI record with 46 and is currently on an 11-game hitting streak. On the season, she is slashing .467/.474/.800 while leading the MASCAC in RBI and tying for the league lead with six home runs. The 46 runs batted in are 18 more than the next closest player in the league.

Westfield State (20-9-1 overall, 8-2 MASCAC) currently hold sole possession of first place in the conference standings as the Owls have four conference games remaining, all at home. The Owls next game will be a non-conference doubleheader tomorrow at 3:00 P.M. against Trinity College (originally scheduled for Wednesday).
