Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame Ernie Banks was famous for saying "Let's Play Two," when the weather was nice.    Westfield State softball doubled up on Banks, playing four games on Friday on the last day of their Florida Spring Break trip in Clermont, Fla.

The Owls lost one game from their schedule on Sunday when there was a mis-scheduling of umpires for the tournament, one to a deluge on Monday, and both games Thursday were washed out by steady rains.

Today, the Owls lost to Simmons, 7-2 in the morning, fell to Misericorda (Pa.) by an 8-4 score, fell 10-0 to Concordia-Chicago, and wrapped up with a 12-4 loss against Ohio Northern in a 7:00 p.m. start.

With the four game day, every player on the owls roster saw action.

Highlights from today's games included:

Abby Higgins drove in both of the Owls' runs with a double in the opener.

Jordyn Lummus had a pair of hits, and scored three runs, and Colleen Hughes had a pair of hits including a two-run homer in the Owls' 8-4 loss to Misericordia.

Sarah Bingham rapped out a pair of hits against Concordia.

Jess Chenard doubled home a run in game four.

Complete box scores for all four games are posted.

Westfield should benefit from the added game experience when they begin the northern portion of their schedule.  The Owls are slated to host Bay Path on Wednesday, March 16, weather and field conditions permitting.
