Tortora, Meunier Earn MASCAC All-Conference Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State senior outfielder Bri Tortora (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore utility player Sarah Meunier (Deerfield, Mass.) were named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) all-conference teams that were announced earlier this afternoon, as voted by the league's coaches.

Tortora was named to the MASCAC First Team after finishing the year with a .370 batting average and only striking out five times in 108 at-bats. She wrapped out seven doubles, a triple and 18 runs batted in while starting 36 of the Owls' 37 games this season. She added 24 runs, five stolen bases, and a .465 on-base percentage as well to her stellar year.

Meunier was named to the second team, and in only 27 games she tallied five doubles, two home-runs, 18 runs batted in, and 12 runs scored. Meunier finished the season with a .333 batting average and .508 slugging percentage.

The Owls earned the #3 seed in the MASCAC tournament this year, but fell to Worcester State in the opening round, 7-3.
