Sylven Earns His Second MASCAC Rookie Runner Of The Week Award

WESTFIELD Mass – Westfield State first year Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, MA) was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference rookie runner of the week for the second time this season. 

In the past weekend's race at Keene State Invitational, he was the first runner across for Westfield State as he finished 17th overall with a time of 26:39.4 on the 8,000 meter course. Sylven was 17th out of 232 participants. Out of 21 total teams competing in the meet, Westfield State finished 9th. 

Sylven has racked up two rookie of the week awards, as well as finishing first in the individual meet at the season opening Keene Alumni Invitational. 

The Owls look forward to hosting the James Earley Invitational meet at Stanley Park on Saturday October 7th.
