First-year Nathan Sylven was the first man across the line for Westfield State, as he placed 17th at the Keene State invitational on Saturday.
Sylven posted a time of 26:39.4 on the 8,000 meter course at the Owl Athletic Complex.
John Nekitopoulos was 49th in 27:31.8 and Will Buckley 51st in 27:33.1 the individual tables as the next two runners to hit the tape for the Owls in the 232 competitor race.
The Owls finished with a team score of 252. Plymouth State (59) won the meet, followed by D2 Assumption (68), Brandeis (98) and UMass-Dartmouth (96). Plymouth's Michael Olson was the individual champ in 25:04.1
Westfield will be back in action next Saturday, hosting the James Earley Invitational meet at Stanley Park. The meet will also be a preview for the NCAA Regional Championship meet, which Westfield will host on the same course in early November.
