WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Freshman Jack Merck (West Springfield, Mass.) was named the MASCAC men's cross country Rookie of the Week yet again last week, as announced by the league earlier this week.
It was the fifth time Merck has earned weekly honors this season, and he was also tabbed as Runner and Rookie of the Week in early October.
Merck led all Owls at the NCAA Regional cross country meet, crossing the line 63rd at the Bowdoin course with a time of 26:16. Westfield placed 18th in the 54-team meet with 618 points.
This wraps up the 2019 fall cross country season for the Owl men, as many team members, including Merck, now turn their attention to the indoor track and field season.
