WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior Tim Forrest (Westborough/Grafton, Mass.) took home 15th place to lead the Owls' efforts at the 30th annual Gettysburg Invitational Cross Country meet on campus at Gettysburg College on Saturday.
The meet is one of the largest in the mid-Atlantic region, featuring schools from seven different states and all NCAA divisions.
Forrest traversed the flat but largely muddy 8k course in 26:42.
The Owls finished 11th among 28 scoring teams, but fourth among NCAA Division III teams as the meet featured numerous Division I and Division II programs. 276 runners competed.
Brandon Leclair (53rd, 27:40) and Kevin Rayner (68th, 28:04) were the next two men in for the Owls
The race was part of a 2- day trip for the Owls team, which included a tour of battlefield sites and the museum on Friday, as well as a training run in the national park.
