Good Day For Men's Track at Wheaton

WESTFIELD, Mass.  –  Westfield State's Will Brewster  (Westfield, Mass.) and Colby Ranck (Chicopee, Mass./Hampden Charter) each picked up event wins at the Wheaton College Pre-Postseason Invitational on Saturday in Norton, Mass.

Brewster won the 200 meters in a time of 23.17, and set a PR with a mark of 7.30 in the 60 meters.   Teammate JJ Tauscher (Easthampton, Mass.) placed 3rd in 23.89.

Ranck won the triple jump with top mark of 12.66 meters.

Rowan Gottschall (West Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) second in the 600 meters in a time of 1:26.13, a personal-best mark that will qualify him for the New England Division 3 Championships.

Gordon Johnson (Hanson, Mass./Whitman Hanson) placed second in the 800 in season best mark of 1:58.53.

Other top finshers for the Owls included John Nekitopoulos' (West Springfield, Mass.) third in the mile 4:31.25, while Dylan Clark (Bellows Falls, Vt.) placed third in the shot put with a toss of 12.58 meters, and also third in weight throw with a mark of 12.77 meters.   Brogan Madden (Northborough, Mass./Algonquin)  also took third in the high jump, clearing 1.75 meters.

Westfield will next compete at the New England D3 Championships next Friday and Saturday at Tufts University.
