John Nekitopoulos won the men's mile to lead the results of the Westfield State men's track and field team at the Pioneer Fast Trax Invitational at Utica (NY) College on Saturday afternoon.

Nekitopoulos ran a time of 4:20.36 in his winning effort.    He also placed fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.54.

Ali Warsame placed sixth in both the triple jump (13.13 meters) and in the long jump with a mark of 6.23 meters.   Warsame was just one centimeter ahead of teammate Colby Ranck, who took seventh at 6.22 meters.

Westfield's Jordan Stallworth took a sixth place resut in the 60 meters with a time of 7.53 seconds.

The Owl men placed eighth among the 17 scoring teams at the meet.

Westfield will host the 2024 MASCAC track and field championships next Saturday, Feb. 10 at Smith College, with the field events beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the running events commencing at noon.
