NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Westfield State University men's track and field team had two event-winners at the Pioneer Classic held at Smith College on Saturday

Riley Moore (Holden, Mass. / Wachussett) and Brandon Leclair (Goshen, Conn. / Wamogo) helped lead the Owls, both winning events. Moore won the pole vault while Leclair bested the competition in the 5,000-meter run.

Mitch Maslowski (Berlin, Conn. / Berlin) chipped in as well, coming in second in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash. 

Owen Ortiz (Greenfield, Mass. / Turners Falls) placed second in triple jump and junior Zac Bentley (Acushnet, Mass. / Taunton) finished third in the timed mile with a time of 4:26.67.

Both the Owl men's and women's track and field teams are back in action next weekend as they take to the Massasoit Classic on Saturday.
