William Canty placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 23.23 seconds to highlight the Westfield State University men's track and field team's efforts at the Massasoit Invitational meet at Springfield College on Saturday.
Owen Ortiz finished third in the triple jump with a hop, skip and jump of 13.36m (43'-10.00").
The Owls got fourth place finishes in the 1000 from Zac Bentley (2:42.15), Brandon Leclair in the 3000 (8:51.71 and from Tim Croteau in the 35-lb weight throw (46'-06.00").
No team scoring was kept at the meet. Westfield's qualified athletes will next compete at the NEICAAA Championships next Friday and Saturday.
