WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's senior Dereck Stone (Bellingham, Mass.) placed second in the long jump to lead the men's indoor track and field team at the Tufts Final Qualifying meet in Medford, Mass. Saturday.

Stone finished second in the high jump with a height of 6.71 meters (22-00.25).

The meet consisted of Division I, II and III competitors, as well as a handful of high-level club athletes.

The top 17 athletes in each event will compete at the NCAA Championship meet March 9 and 10 in Birmingham, Alabama. The qualifying list closes on Sunday.
