Junior Tim Forrest won the 5,000 meters to kick off the meet to headline the Westfield State men's track and field team's performances at the non-scoring Maroon and White Classic meet at Springfield College on Saturday.

Forrest's time of 15:55:52 biltzed the 17-man field, winning by nearly 30 seconds over his closest competitor.

Sophomore Brandon Leclair won the 3,000 meters in 9:05.70, junior Dorian Johnson claimed the 400 meters in 52.21.

Junior Connor Gottzman took home a second-place finish in the 600 meters in 1:24.80.

Westfield State will be back in action next weekend, competing in the Massasoit Classic at Springfield College.
