Drigo Places Second In Javelin at Snowflake Classic

Westfield State's men's track and field team placed fifth among 20 scoring teams at the at the Snowflake Classic meet at Tufts University on Saturday.

Senior David Drigo (Masconomet/Middleton, Mass.) was the top individual finisher for the Owls as he placed second in the javelin with a top throw of 54.00m (177'-02").

Other top place finishers for the Owls included Paul James (Tantasqua/West Brookfield, Mass.) who took fourth in the 100 meter finals in 11.52 seconds, while teammate Mitch Maslowski (Berlin, Conn.) was fifth.

Patrick Brett (Whitman Hanson/Hanson, Mass.) took fourth place in the 3000 steeplechase 10:18.82. Dereck Stone (Bellingham, Mass.) took fifth in high jump and sixth in long jump.

The Owls also had two strong relays as the 4x800 unit placed second, and the 4x100 finished in fourth place.
