Westfield State men's soccer will recognize the memory of late head coach John Evans at halftime of the homecoming game vs. Fitchburg State on Saturday, October 14.  The game kicks off at 11:00 a.m.

Evans  retired from coaching the men's soccer team at Westfield State in January of 2022 after 10 seasons as head coach, which followed nine years as an assistant coach for the program.

Evans passed on February 24, 2023 while hiking with family in Utah.

Alumni are invited to attend, and raise a pint in John's memory at the homecoming Gameside tent, which will be open from noon – 5 p.m.

The match is also a key one on the field for the Owls, who are currently 3-1 in conference play and tied for second in the MASCAC standings, while Fitchburg sits at 1-2-1 is battling for the league's final playoff spot.
