Men's Soccer Puts Foursome on All-MASCAC Teams

WESTFIELD, Mass.  –     Westfield State University men's soccer had four players named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference all-conference teams that were announced on Wednesday, as voted by the league's coaches.

Senior defenders Kieran Moriarty (West Springfield, Mass.) and Brodie Keene (Agawam, Mass.), sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Diotalevi (Ludlow, Mass.) and freshman midfielder Sinha Kunphel (Nauset/S. Yarmouth, Mass.) were all named to the league's second team.

Moriarty finished the year with two goals, making both count as late-game game-winners.  He finishes his career with six goals and seven assists.

Keene finished the year with one assist.   He graduates with career totals of 16 goals and 6 assists, after playing two years as a forward for the Owls as a freshman and sophomore.

Kunphel finished the year as the Owls second leading scorer with two goals and an assist for five points.

Diotalevi, a transfer from Division II American International College, finished the season with a goals-against average of 0.72 and a .870 save percentage.  He was even better in conference play with a .898 save percentage and a 0.61 goals-against average.

The foursome contributed to an Owls team that ranked second in the league with just six goals against in seven conference games, and led the league in goals-against average at 0.66. The group helped the Owls to a 3-1-3 mark in the MASCAC, and a 5-5-5 overall mark under head coach John Evans.
