WESTFIELD, Mass.  –  Westfield State first year forward Christopher Miraldo (Montreal, Quebec/Fresno Monsters – USPHL) was named as a second-team Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference all-conference selection, the league announced today.

Miraldo was the lone Owl chosen for this year's team, as voted on by the league's coaches.

Miraldo had a strong debut season for Westfield State, leading the team with 17 goals, and adding 11 assists for 28 points.   He ranked second on the team in points, and fourth in assists while primarily playing on the Owls top scoring line.  He finished the season in a tie for second in goals scored in the conference.

Twice he scored two goals in a game, on Oct. 28 in a 6-2 win over Western New England, and again on Nov. 18, when he scored both Owls goals in a 2-1 win over MCLA.

Two of Miraldo's goals were game winners, while five came on the power play.

Westfield finished the season with a 13-12-2 overall record, and a 9-10-2 mark in the MASCAC.  The Owls scored a win and a tie over nationally ranked teams during the season under 14th year head coach Bob Miele.
