WESTFIELD, Mass. –     Worcester State's Nicholas Terry tipped home a shot from Max Roth at 4:13 of the third period to score the game winning goal as the Lancers won a see-saw 6-4 decision from the Owls in a MASCAC ice hockey game at Amelia Park Arena on Saturday evening.

Worcester (2-4, 1-1 MASCAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 3:33 of the contest, but Westfield  (1-3-1, 0-1-1 MASCAC) answered with a breakaway goal from Jake Ratcliffe, and a rebound from Joseph Carbone to leave the game at a 2-2 tie going to the first intermission.

The Owls grabbed a 3-2 lead 1:22 into the second period when Jones fed Paul Frys at the right post for the goals, but Worcester fired right back with shots from the point for both Henry Bruckner and Max Roth to take a 4-3 lead and chase Owls' starting goaltender Valtteri Valtonen.

Westfield leveled the game with a power play goal that featured tic-tac-toe passing to Frys at 1:21 of the third period, but Terry netted what proved to be the game winner and then Deiter Stange picked up a loose puck near the red line and lifted it into the empty net for the 6-4 final.

Jacob Kubik got the win in goal in relief of Worcestser starter Nevin Tardiff.  Kubik made 11 saves as the Lancers outshot the Owls 46-19.

Kevin Chandler made 26 saves in relief for the Owls, while Valtonen finished with 14 stops.
