WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State senior goaltender Thierry Messervier (Montreal, Quebec) was named the MASCAC men's ice hockey Goalie of the Week, announced by the league earlier this morning.
Messervier finished with a 1.44 GAA, .961 save percentage and 74 saves in a 1-0-1 week for the Owls. He made 39 saves in the 2-2 tie with Stonehill College and had 35 saves in the 4-1 win over Worcester State.
Thanks to the help of Messervier, the Owls have posted a 4-0-3 record in their last seven games and currently sit in second in the conference with a 5-2-1 mark in the league.
The Owls are back in action Thursday night in another big conference game at Salem State with puck dropped scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
