WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State junior goaltender Thierry Messervier (Montreal, Quebec) was named the MASCAC men's ice hockey Goalie of the Week, as announced by the conference earlier today.

Messervier posted a 28-save shutout as the Owls blanked Framingham, 6-0, on Thursday. He also finished with 51 saves against UMass Dartmouth, as the Owls pulled out a 4-3 win over the Corsairs on Senior Night on Saturday.

Messervier has anchored an Owl hockey team that has gone 10-1-1 since the break, sliding the Owls into second place in the MASCAC with a 10-4-1 mark in the conference.

The Owls will host Worcester State Thursday night at Amelia Park Ice Arena, beginning at 7:35 p.m. If Westfield State is able to win these last three games, the Owls would win the regular season title for the first time ever.
