Messervier Grabs MASCAC Goalie of the Week

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Junior goaltender Thierry Messervier (Montreal, Quebec) was named this week's MASCAC men's ice hockey Goalie of the Week, as announces by the conference earlier today.

Messervier went 2-0-1 on the week with 125 saves and just five goals allowed for a 1.62 goal-against average and a .962 save percentage. His best performance of the week came in the Owls' 3-1 victory at Plymouth State, making 52 saves, allowing only one goal. It was Westfield's first win over the Panthers since the 2012-2013 season.

Westfield State looks to grab the top spot in the MASCAC as they travel to Salem to take on the Vikings in a 7:00 p.m. game. With an Owls' win, Plymouth loss, and UMass Dartmouth loss or tie, Messervier and the Owls would sit atop the conference with five games left.
