Owls' Hockey Volunteers for Westfield 350 First Night

Westfield State University's men's ice hockey team volunteered to help staff the family-friendly activities at the Westfield 350 First Night celebration held at the Amelia Park Ice Arena on New Year's Eve.

The Owls served as skate guards, handed out free rental skates, monitored the fire pits where families were making smores, directed traffic and ran knockerball games for the children.

Huge crowds attended the event which ran from 3-7 in the evening with a fireworks display concluding the night.  Watch the video below to get a taste of the event !

The Owls will ba back in action this week, hosting Becker on Thursday in a 1 p.m. start with free admission, and then back to league action on Saturday with a game against Salem State at 5:35 p.m., both at Amelia Park.
